Mary A. Burgess

Mary A. Burgess, 88, of Graham, died on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Edgewood Place in Burlington.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Ervin E. Sharpe and the late Thero T. Burgess and was the daughter of Claude C. Moser and Nannie Graves, both deceased. She retired from Westpoint Pepperell and attended Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church. Mrs. Burgess loved flowers and spending time in her garden.

Survivors include her son, Calvin Sharpe and wife Denise of Graham; her granddaughter, Susan Meisenbach of Elon; and her nephew, Bruce Moser of Texas. She was preceded in death by her brother, Claude Moser.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham with Pastor Amanda Dixson officiating. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham and at other times will be at the residence of the son, Calvin Sharpe.
