Myrtle Rheuark Turner

Mrs. Myrtle Rheuark Turner, 92, of Graham passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 surrounded by her family and loved ones.

A native of Gaston County, she was the wife of the late Brice Caldwell Turner and the daughter of John Coleman Rheuark, Jr. and Peanie Pierce Rheuark, both deceased.  Myrtle retired from AT&T in 1988 with 36 years of service.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Graham and was a volunteer with Hospice and Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Dianne Turner Barnes and her husband, Rick of Garner and June Gayle Turner of Bolivia, NC; son, Brice C. “Chip” Turner, II of Graham; four grandchildren, Kelley Turner of Graham, Matt Barnes and his wife, Robin of Adamsville, TN, Stuart Barnes and his wife, Katie of Holly Springs and Wes Barnes and his wife, Alison of Cary; and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary R. Watson and Hazel R. Craig; and three brothers, Carl Rheuark, Ernest Rheuark and William Rheuark.

The funeral service will be conducted at the First United Methodist Church of Graham on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Kevin Baker.  Burial will follow at Graham Memorial Park. 

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Other times the family will be at the residence.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
