Kyle Clifton Kimball

August 29, 1918 ~ August 19, 2017 (age 98) 98 Years Old

Mr. Kyle Clifton Kimball, 98, of Liberty passed away at the Hospice Home, ten days shy of his 99th Birthday, on Saturday, August 19, 2017at 3:40 p.m.

 

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of 73 years to the late Virginia Teague Kimball and the son of William Kimball and Lucy Thompson Kimball, both deceased. Kyle was retired from Kayser Roth Hosiery, a charter and oldest member of the Sylvan Ruritan Club, where he was the 1998 recipient of the Ruritan Member of the Year, a member of Cane Creek Friends Meeting, where he served as Secretary and Superintendent for many years.  Kyle enjoyed mowing lawns for many people until he was 95 years old.

 

Mr. Kimball is survived by two daughters, Louise Doss of Haw River and Estella Stansbury and her husband, George of Durham; two sons, Clifton Kimball and his wife, Faye of Snow Camp and William Kimball and his wife, Wanda of Siler City; six grandchildren, Ray Doss and his wife, Donna of Burlington, Anna Dickens and Tim Sullivan of Elon, Angela Leonard and her husband, David of Mebane, Nicki Luther and her husband, Chuck of Texas, Michele Stansbury of Mebane and Chris Stansbury of Arden, NC; twelve great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; and a sister, Rachel Ray of Mebane.

 

In addition to his wife and parents, Kyle was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth Moon, Edith Lineberry, Sarah Kimball and Georgia Baker; and two brothers, Cortez Kimball and Herbert Kimball.

 

A funeral service will be conducted at Cane Creek Friends Meeting on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. by Marcus Wall, Dale Matthews, Archie Creed and Greg Burris. Burial will follow in the Meeting House Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Other times they will be at the residence.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to his care givers at home, Sandra, Howard and Earline, the Snow Camp Fire Department and to the entire staff of Hospice.
