Janet (Dickerson) Harper

Mrs. Janet Marie Dickerson “Gonnie” Harper of Graham passed away on September 16, 2017. 

A native of Vance County, NC, she was the wife of the late Robert Talmadge “Tal” Harper.  She was born on December 15, 1936 to the late William Sidney and Nora Vaughan Dickerson.

Mrs. Harper retired from Hanes in Burlington.  She was an avid gardner who enjoyed spending time in her many flower gardens.  She was known for her delicious pound cakes.  She was a talented seamstress, often making home décor items and dresses for her granddaughters.

She leaves behind a daughter, Angela Harper Clark and husband, John of Indian Trail, NC and a son, William Talmadge Harper of Graham.  Her memory will be cherished by her twin granddaughters, Sydney Elizabeth and Madison Harris Clark of Indian Trail, NC.  She is also survived by her sister, Blanche Stainback of Henderson, NC.  She was preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
