Frances Lou Edwards Welch, 86 years, 11 months and 2 days, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2017 at Trinity Ridge in Hickory with her daughter, son-in-law and pastor by her side.
She was born December 13, 1930 in Alamance County to the late Monnie Comer Edwards and Lake Alexander Edwards. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kelly Friddle and her second husband, Kenneth Welch. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Eldridge “Jeep” Edwards and Max Edwards and an infant sister, Elwanda Edwards.
She is survived by her daughter, Faith and husband Archie Eckard of Hickory, with which she resided for the past 11 years. She is also survived by her son, Randy Friddle and her sister, Dinky Smith, both of Burlington. But most of all, she is survived by her beloved white cats, Frosty and Gabby, who were the absolute loves of her life.
We would like to thank her caregivers and nurses. She made them laugh every day.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery in Burlington, NC.
In lieu of flowers, she specifically requested any donations be made to the Humane Society of Catawba County, P.O. Box 63, Hickory, NC 28603 or www.catawbahumane.org.
