Donna Mitchell Howard

Mrs. Donna Mitchell Howard, 67, of Burlington died at the Hospice Home on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 12:12 a.m.

A native of Cleveland County, she was the wife of the late Robert Paul Howard and the daughter of the late Robert Eugene Mitchell and Betty Barkley Mitchell, who survives. Mrs. Howard was a former dental assistant and an avid gardener. She loved the beach, boating and Lake Lure and was a member of the Rutherford County Shag Club. She was of the Presbyterian faith.

In addition to her mother, survivors include a son, Eric Lee Howard (Alyssa) of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sisters, Patti Bates (Hal) of Burlington and Lynn Mitchell (Ralph Johnson) of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Cameron, Austin, Ava and Jaxson; two special aunts, Sue Dellinger (Jerry) of Burlington and Shirley Corbett of Walterboro, SC; numerous other loved nieces, nephews, cousins and uncles; and beloved dog, Odie.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. C. Powell Sykes with the family receiving friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Other times, the family will be at the residence of her sister, Patti Bates, 2204 Teal Court, Burlington, NC.

Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, for the Hospice Home, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Choksi and the staff at Alamance Regional Cancer Center.
