I was so sorry to see Chester's death today. As you know, we have known you guys for many years having been neighbors and growing up together. Louise and I were just in Burlington a few weeks ago and I sure wish we had stopped by to see you. Ches was a good friend, neighbor and a very nice person. I shall miss him . My best to you and the girls. God Bless.

Dear Karen and Family,
Words cannot even begin to express our sorrow upon the death of Chester. When we lose someone we love, it seems that time stands still. What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, and one more touch. We don’t always understand God’s timing…but little by little, you will begin to remember not the loss of Chester, but that he lived a life full of hope, happiness, and the joy of his family. Now he is with Jesus waiting for his family to meet him worshiping and praising God. But most of all, that his life gave you memories too beautiful to forget.
May God give you…
Strength during this difficult time with the loss of Chester,
Grace that each day, you will know God is with you and your family,
Peace that God's love for Chester was stronger than we could ever imagine,
Hope as only God can give of a mended, broken heart,
Knowledge that you are loved and your family is lifted up in our prayers,
Memories of a wonderful man that only God knew would be a part of your family and your life…For memories last a lifetime.

I had just began to get know Chester as I and my wife had become a member of the Davis St UMC and more recently attending the Davis St UMC Men's group. He was such an inspiration. We will truly miss him.

Eunice, I am was so saddened this morning when I saw the news. Words can't really tell you how I felt about Chester. He was such a great man in every way. I have such great memories of playing softball and the BBQ sales each spring. Thinking of you and the family and will be in my prayers.

I played golf on Tuesdays with Chester. He was always nice to me and we shook hands and said hello. He was a really great guy and pretty good golfer to boot. I was fortunate to talk with him last week when we all played together at Starmount Forest CC in Greensboro. Oh by the way he was captain of his team that day and they won first place. Rest in peace my friend. Mark Cline
