Rev. William L. Wolfe

Rev. William L. Wolfe passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell.

He was born September 4, 1928 in Grafton, WV to the late Harry and Nora May Shaffer Wolfe.

Rev. Wolfe is survived by his wife of 71 years, Glenna R. Wolfe, two sons, Larry Wolfe and wife Cynthia and Jon Wolfe; two daughters, Sandra W. Ray and husband Daniel, Sheila W. Starnes and husband Lee; nine grandchildren, Larry Wolfe Jr., Jeff Wolfe, Chris Wolfe, Christian Wolfe, Stania Wolfe, Jennifer R. Adams, Doug Ray, Nick Starnes, Michael Starnes; and nineteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Freda Hall and Nancy McDaniel; three brothers, Charles Wolfe, John Wolfe and Jim Wolfe. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam Wolfe and Bob Wolfe; and two sisters, Ginny Knight and Jane McKinney.

Rev. Wolfe started his career with the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad for 15 years, but after accepting Jesus Christ as his Savior, he went into the Ministry for 40+ years, serving the following charges, Wyatt, WV, Brandonville, WV, Westover, WV, Keansville, NC, Cedar Cliff, NC, Haw River, NC, Wrightsville Beach, NC, Bellemont, NC and West Burlington, NC.

Rev. Wolfe attended West Virginia University and Duke University Divinity School. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Burlington, and a member of the NC Conference of the United Methodist Church and was attending Bellemont United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 19, at Bellemont United Methodist Church with Rev. Farron Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM, prior to the service, and other times at the residence.
