William "Stan" Smith

William Stanley “Stan” Smith, 71, passed away at the Hospice Home in Burlington on Thursday, July 11, 2019.

He was born in Alamance County to the late Fred William and Jacksie Wilda Bulla Smith.

Stan retired from National Finance as a supervisor. He enjoyed watching golf, after having been a NASCAR fan for many years. He loved meeting his friends for breakfast at Bojangles’ and collecting quarters and dimes. He was an avid Carolina fan and proud of his service in the US Navy.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Julie Anderson Langston Smith; daughter, Tammy Smith and Ray of Burlington; son, Shane Smith and wife, April, of Kernersville; and sister, Karen Everette of Milton.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Alamance Regional Medical Center, Edgewood Place and the Hospice Home for their kindness, compassion and loving care of Stan and his family. They clearly defined caregiving.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held Friday, July 19 at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington, NC from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.
