Mr. William “Newman” Lowder, 71, of Burlington passed away at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital on Monday, February 4, 2019 following five days of critical illness.
A native of Durham County, he was the husband of Judi Dunnagan Lowder, who survives and the son of William Newman Lowder and Lillie May Brewer Lowder, both deceased. He was a retired service advisor for County Ford. He was also a former member of the Alamance County Rescue.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include two daughters, Tabetha Lowder O’Steen of Plant City, FL and Ashley Lowder of Hollywood, FL; two granddaughters, Kallie O’ Steen of Plant City, FL and Addison Lowder of Hollywood, FL; two aunts, Marie Hoffman of Florida and Juanell King of Raleigh; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by an aunt, Frances Mayo.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Roger Barefoot with the family receiving friends from 12:00 noon until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Other times the family will be at the home of the sister-in-law, Pat Dunnagan, 1710 Fairview Street, Burlington, NC.
