William Harold "Joe" Lloyd

William Harold “Joe” Lloyd, 79, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several years of failing health.

A native of Alamance County, he was the son of Isaac William “Ike” Lloyd and Allegra Davis Lloyd both deceased. He was the husband of 53 years to Carolyn Atkins Lloyd who survives.

Joe was educated at E. M. Holt, Walter Williams High School and Alamance Community College. He retired from the Alamance Burlington School System’s maintenance department serving as a locksmith. Joe was a member of Bellemont United Methodist Church. He loved Jesus, his family and the Duke Blue Devils.

Survivors other than his wife, include his sons, William Dwain Lloyd (Leeanne) of Burlington and Joseph Scott Lloyd(Jennifer) of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren Marissa Faye Lloyd and Madi Beth Lloyd of Burlington and Reagan Bell Lloyd of Murfreesboro, TN; sisters, Vivian Lloyd Crawford, Judith Lloyd Adams and Sheila Lloyd Gayer; brother, Rev. Don Lloyd and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm – 1:45 pm on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm in the Rich & Thompson Chapel officiated by Rev. Farron Duncan and Joe’s brother Rev. Don Lloyd. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.

At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Joe and Carolyn.
