Obituary

William “Clarence” King, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Moses Cone Hospital.

Clarence was a native of Alamance County and a veteran of the United States Army. During his time in the service, he met the love of his life, Regina Manley King.  They shared a beautiful life together for over 50 years until she went to be with the Lord in 2006.

Immediately following his time in the Army, Clarence began his career at King Electric.  He served on the North Carolina State Board of Electrical Examiners.  He was also a member of the Alamance County Electrical Contractors Association and the Burlington Jaycees.  His immeasurable passion for King Electric and his devotion to his work family lasted until his final days.

The last three years he spent happily with his wife Beverly King.  In his free time, you could always find him on the golf course with his golf buddies that were very special to him.

Anyone who met him would know that he was a kindhearted and honorable man.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by first wife, Regina Manley King; parents, Edgar and Mary King; two brothers, Earl King and Melvin King; and one grandson, Neil Robinson.

Leaving behind wife Beverly King of Burlington; his beloved daughter, Lori Robinson and husband Brian of Greenville, SC; son, Larry King and wife Carla of Snow Camp; five grandchildren, Elliot Robinson, Stewart Robinson, Nicholas King, Samantha Ferguson and husband Chad and Chandler King and spouse Andrew Autry; one great-grandson, Easton Autry and another arriving in July, Reed Ferguson.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday (May 21, 2019) in the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 prior to the funeral service.  The committal service will follow immediately after the funeral service at Alamance Memorial Park.
