Sergeant Major William Henry Hilton, USMC Retired, 86, of Graham, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington.
A native of Dillon, South Carolina, he was the husband of Nancy Carol Bowling Hilton, who survives, and the son of John Rather Hilton and Sadie Ines Hicks Hilton, both deceased. He was a retired after 30 years of service as a Sergeant Major with the United States Marine Corps and served two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of Rock Creek United Methodist Church in Snow Camp and loved watching college football and playing golf in his spare time.
In addition to his wife Nancy, survivors include four children, Denise Peacock of Colorado Springs, Colarado, Curtis Crutchfield and wife Audra of Graham, Gary Crutchfield of Graham, and Chris Crutchfield and wife Cristina of Elon; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, John David Hilton and his sister Sarah Jean Rogers.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham with Rev. Tyler Moore officiating. Entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 14, 2019 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham and at other times will be at the residence.
