William Glenn “Rocky” Harrison III

William Glenn “Rocky” Harrison III, 71 of Alamance County, NC passed away on May 7, 2022

Visitation will be held from 4-6 on May 11, 2022 at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington NC.

Rocky was born in Alamance County, NC on May 20, 1950, to the late Glenn and Alluwee Harrison. After graduating high school, he continued on to receive AGC Master Certification in Residential Building.

Rocky was the owner/operator of WGH General Contracting for many years before moving into the school system to share that knowledge with the future generations. Rocky was an instructor at Alamance Community College and within area high schools. Rocky was a beloved teacher known for his one-of-a-kind teaching style and active contribution and guidance to the Alamance Burlington School System. After retirement, Rocky enjoyed splitting his time between the mountains and the beach. He was usually accompanied by Alyce Gaines, who loved and cared for him very much.

Rocky is survived by his children; a daughter, Allison Harrison Godwin; son, William Glenn Harrison IV (Josie), son, Hunter McNeil Harrison and grandson, Austin Tyler Harrison. Survivors also include sister Kathy Grigg (Claud), brother Donnie Harrison (Debbie), brother Mark Harrison (Dee) and sister Beth Jenkins (David).
Rocky’s family thanks his friends who would stop by to ask advice, discuss a new project, deliver a biscuit or honey bun. Rocky enjoyed all of those discussions and was grateful for the opportunity to share his insights with so many.
