William Alex Dorminy

Mr. William Alex Dorminy, 76, of Burlington passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 1:30 a.m.

A native of Berks County, PA, he was the husband of 51 years to Janet S. Dorminy and the son of Bill Dorminy and Ethel Worrell Dorminy, both deceased. Mr. Dorminy designed saw mills and also worked at Ligna Machinery and Southland Electric. He was an avid knife collector. Mr. Dorminy was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a daughter, Janene Dorminy Tew and husband Jeremy of Gibsonville; son, Brett A. Dorminy and wife Michelle of Mebane; five grandchildren, Dalton B. Dorminy, Hailey Dorminy, William Cameron Tew, A. Carter Moore and husband Colt and Abbigail Faucette; and one great granddaughter, Maddilee Oliver.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Don Pegg with the family receiving friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Other times they will be at the residence.
