Mr. William E. (Ellard) Cook, 93, of Graham, peacefully passed away early Sunday morning, June 28, 2020 at Liberty Commons in Burlington.
Born on December 9, 1926, a native of Blue Ridge, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Avery Cook and Margaret Chambers Cook, both deceased. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Dale Cook and Elgin Cook and sisters: Sue Cook Cates and Jewel Cook Foust.
Mr. Cook was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Lorillard Tobacco Manufacturing Company in Greensboro where he worked as a fixer servicing cigarette machines with 30+ years of service. He loved to hunt and loved being surrounded by his family.
He is survived by three sisters: Maxine Cole, Alma Lee Parrish (husband James) and Austine Jones . He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He touched a lot of lives in meaningful ways and will be greatly missed.
The funeral will be conducted at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 11:00 am with the family receiving friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am prior to the service. Officiating the service will be Rev. Mark Stephens. Burial will follow at Phillips Chapel Church Cemetery, 2362 Brucewood Road, Haw River, NC.
