Willard L. Justice

Mr. Willard Lindbergh Justice, 90, of Graham passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 3:08 a.m. He ended his 6 year battle with pulmonary fibrosis surrounded by his loving family.

Willard was born on December 16th, 1928 in Alamance County to the late Richard and Daisy Shoe Justice. He was a loving husband to the late Rachel Edwards Justice for 64 years.

He is survived by his special friend, Doris Smith; two sons, Wesley L. Justice and wife Wanda and
S. Blake Justice and fiancé Denise; three grandchildren, Tiffany Justice Harris and husband Cliff, Nathan M. Justice and wife Tori and Nicole Justice Howerton and husband Jason; seven great-grandchildren, Jacob and Joseph Harris, Caleb, Cullen and Gracyn Justice, and Hunter and Connor Howerton; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence, Ray, Page, Ralph and Glenn Justice; two sisters, Pauline Mangrum and Hazel Higgins; and daughter-in-law, Carmen Lynn Justice.

Willard retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company after many years to spend time with his family. He was appropriately nicknamed “Boatman” by all of his buddies at work. He loved nothing more than to be camping and boating with his family. He, himself, was still waterskiing into his early 70’s.

Willard was a selflessly devoted family man who will be deeply missed.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. by the Rev. Andy Clapp. Burial will follow at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the home of Willard Justice, 3807 Southern High-Mt. Hermon Road, Graham, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an organization dear to him, Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
