Walter Briggs Shotwell

Walter Briggs Shotwell, 82, of Burlington passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at White Oak Manor.

A native of Roxboro, NC he was the husband of Kathleen Lee Powell and the son of the late Fletcher Shotwell and the late Mary Fannie Briggs Shotwell.  He was a retired truck driver and member of the local Teamsters Union.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Tony Shotwell and his wife Sheila; daughter, Janet Shotwell Hoernke; grandson, Brent Shotwell and his wife Caitlin; granddaughter, Emily Shotwell; sister, Irene Riley; and step-brothers, Bobby Conner and Ernest Conner and his wife Barbara.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sally Sue Fazio and Mary Elizabeth Lucas and brother; Hubert Shotwell.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington. The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service.
