Vivian Sumrell Bryan, 91, of the Village of Brookwood, died Friday, September 17, 2021, at her residence after several months of declining health.
A native of Craven County, she was the wife of Mr. Marvin Allen “Johnny” Bryan, deceased, and daughter of Mr. Eugene Sumrell and Mrs. Annie Allen Sumrell, both deceased. She was a graduate of the North Carolina Baptist School of Nursing. She was a retired Registered Nurse at Elon University. She was most recently a member of the Edenton United Methodist Church and the First Christian United Church of Christ. She enjoyed family, singing, walking, friends and playing bridge.
Survivors include two sons, Mr. M. Allen Bryan, Jr., of Richmond, Va., and Mr. Mark David Bryan and wife Melody of Colorado Springs, Co. and two grandsons, Christopher Justin Bryan and Michael Aaron Bryan, both of Richmond, Va.
A private graveside service will be held at a future date at Magnolia Cemetery in Elon.
