Obituary
BURLINGTON- Virginia Hancock Moser Simpson, 104, of Burlington passed away Wednesday morning, June 27, 2018, at Twin Lakes Community.
A native of Burlington she was the daughter of the late Dr. William Dexter Moser M.D. and Cornelia Hancock Moser, a school teacher.
Virginia was the eldest of five children and is preceded in death by her beloved sister, Mary Barbara Moser McClintock and three brothers; the Reverend William Dexter Moser Jr. (wife, Lib), Beverly Thadeus Moser (surviving wife, Dorothene), and Hampton Taylor Moser (wife, La Rue).
Virginia is survived by eleven nieces and nephews; Dr. Davis Moser (wife, Lynn), Beth Wilburn (husband, Dr. Doug Wilburn), Susan Hansen (husband, Bob), Beverly McClintock Shoaf (husband, Dana), Ada Eason, Babs Combs, Chuck McClintock (wife, Cindy), Connie Ware, Deck Moser (wife, Allison) and deceased niece Charla Moser. Twenty-three great nieces and nephews survive.
Virginia, lovingly called "Aunt Ginnie" was a life- long devoted member at Macedonia Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was baptized there at two weeks of age in 1913 and later confirmed. She sang in the choir, worked both in the nursery and library. Virginia was known for sending birthday cards to many members of the congregation.
Virginia was an avid bridge player, playing in three different groups. She was also active in many organizations including the Women's Club, Western Electric Pioneer's Club and working the voting polls. She also loved to swim and read her daily devotions.
A visitation will be held Sat. June 30, 2018, at 2:15 p.m. at Macedonia Lutheran Church, 421 West Front Street. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:00 p.m.
Friends and family will be welcome at the home of Ada Eason.
The Family would like to thank all Virginia's caregivers, friends and church family who showed her so much love and kindness while a resident at Twin Lakes.
