Vida Wilson Bragg, 92, formerly of Burlington, passed away January 12, 2019 in Stuart, FL. She was the daughter of the late Albert Johnson Wilson and the late Louis Ethel Horton Wilson and the wife of the late Robert E. “Bob” Bragg
Mrs. Bragg is survived by three sons: Stan Bragg and Mary Sue Sorenson of Steamboat Springs, CO; Rick Bragg and his wife, Dee, of Elon; Rob Bragg and his wife, Cheryl, of Stuart, FL; two sisters, Rose W. Jenkins of Burlington and Kitty W. Absher of Pleasant Garden; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Vida grew up in Russell County, Virginia. After graduation, she moved to Washington D.C. She served as the Postmaster at Claypool Hill, Virginia. While in Virginia, she married Bob. The family moved to Burlington in the mid-1950’s where she resided until 2013 when she joined her son, Stan, in Colorado. After tiring of the snow and cold, she headed south to Stuart, FL where she lived with her youngest son, Rob, and his family. She loved the Appalachian Mountains and treasured every opportunity to visit them.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Bragg is preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys W. Peters, Vivian Santini, Virginia Pritchard and a brother, Perry Wilson.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington. The Rev. Darrell Cox will officiate the funeral service which will be held Saturday, January 19, at 2:00 pm in the Rich and Thompson Chapel. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
