Theo G. Sykes

Mrs. Theo G. Sykes, 72, of Burlington passed away at her residence on Monday, May 7, 2018.

A native of Berlin, NH, she was the wife of 46 years to Larry J. Sykes, Sr. and the daughter of Norman Oleson and Avis Morel Oleson, both deceased.  Theo was retired from the VA Hospital in Fayetteville, NC where she worked as a Medical Administrator.  She was a member of True Light Baptist Church in Gibsonville.

Mrs. Sykes is survived by her husband, Larry of the home; son, Larry Justain Sykes, Jr. and wife, Jennifer of Fuquay Varina; daughter, Candace Mary Edmiston and husband, Tom of Clayton, NC; step-son, Chad Daniel Sykes and wife, Marie of McLeansville; step-daughter, Kimberly Sykes Freeman and husband, Matthew of Burlington; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Theo was preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Boren Perry and Mary Oleson Yopp; and three brothers, Bob Boren, Butch Boren and Bill Boren.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. by Rev. Tommy Marley.

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
