Texie Brown Owens

Texie Brown Owens, 91, of Haw River passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

 A native of Yadkin County, she was the wife of the late Morris Bradley “Mike” Owens. Texie was a retired registered nurse and a longtime member of Beacon Baptist Church, who loved working in the nursery. She was well-loved by many and known for her kind and caring nature. Texie enjoyed going to church, gardening, spending time with her animals and crocheting.

Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Fleck of Apex, Patricia O. Terry and husband Don of Wendell, and Mary Pamela Owens of Haw River; son, Timothy Michael Owens and wife Kim of Cary; sister, Zola Belle “Jo” Brown Davis of Salisbury; brother, Otho Lonzo Brown, Jr. of Baltimore, MD; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth Faith Owens of Cookeville, TN, Kathryn Terry Pollara and husband Justin and their son, Jonah of Raleigh, Jason Southworth of Apex, and John Michael Owens, U.S. Army.  Texie was preceded in death by her parents Otho Lonzo Brown and Lois Mabel Allen Brown, one brother, three sisters and her daughter, Teresa Faye Owens.

 Visitation will be held at Beacon Baptist Church, Burlington, NC, on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at noon followed by services at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Pastor Gregory Barkman. Services will be live streamed at www.beaconbaptist.com via the Live Broadcast link. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
