Mrs. Syvon Thomas Lawyer, 66, of Graham, died on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Sylvia Loy Thomas and Curren S. Thomas, both deceased. She retired from the Alamance County School System after many years of service and was a member of Cornerstone Community Church of Saxapahaw.
Survivors include her son, Jeremy L. Lawyer of Graham; four grandchildren, Shane Lawyer and wife Breanna, Erin Lawyer, Logan Lawyer, and Melissa Cates; one great grandchild, Anniyah Lawyer; three sisters, Reita Burr, Joyce Peele and husband Bobby, and Hazel Golden and husband Ned; her brother, Wallace Thomas; close family friends, Lynda Bolt and her son, Michael Bolt and wife Stephanie, and Ann Lee; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Brian Lawyer.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Cornerstone Community Church of Saxapahaw with Rev. Rodney Powell officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 – 10:45 AM prior to the service at the church and at other times will be at the residence.
