Janet Durham Isley

Mrs. Janet Durham Isley, 86, of Burlington passed away at AuthoraCare Collective Hospice Home on Tuesday, October 19, 2021.

A native of Burgaw, NC, she was the wife of the late Theodore “Ted” Warren Isley and the daughter of David Benjamin Durham and Sallie Pauline James Durham, both deceased. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Burgaw, NC while she was growing up. After moving to Burlington, she moved her membership to Davis Street United Methodist Church. She was a lifelong Bridge player and a former volunteer with Meals on Wheels. She and her husband were avid world travelers, who circled the globe four times. They were Five Star Mariners.

Mrs. Isley was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her three children, Cindy I. Price and husband Keith of Burlington, Vicky I. Norton and husband Ronnie of Graham, and David Warren Isley and wife April of Wilmington; six grandchildren, Jenna E. Price, Matt K. Price, Lauren Crowder, Alyson C. Surles and husband Joey, Nicholas W. Isley and Hannah B. Isley; four great-grandchildren, Jackson Sykes, Hadleigh Surles, Averleigh Surles, and Paxleigh Surles; and sister, Doris Ann Seabolt and husband Art.

The funeral service will be conducted at Davis Street United Methodist Church on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Edgar De Jesus with the family receiving friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
