Obituary

Sharron Frances Steltzer of Burlington, NC, who was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend, died peacefully on February 21, 2021 leaving a legacy of loving kindness. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY July 25, 1947 to Francis Donald Steltzer and Virginia LaRocque Steltzer.

Sharron was well loved by all who knew her. Giving of her time, she adored her nieces and nephews who she indulged with her attention and special outings. She was generous and thoughtful, caring for those in need in every way she could. Sharron cared especially for the welfare of all animals (including squirrels), rescuing dogs and cats into her family. She enjoyed cooking for others and was known for bringing her famous cheesecake and other delicacies to every occasion.

Sharron received a degree in microbiology from Plattsburgh State University of New York. Though she loved the Adirondacks, she moved to North Carolina to be closer to family. Her interest in antiques led her to a position at Replacements Ltd. until she retired.

Sharron will be deeply missed. She is survived by her mother, Virginia Steltzer, sisters Regina Steltzer, Anndora Barvir (Tom), Mary Young (Jim), Sarah Cade (Bruce), brother Edward Steltzer (Lisa), 10 nieces and nephews, and 12 great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in death by her father Francis Donald Steltzer.

Due to the potential spread of Covid, the family will hold a private memorial in Plattsburgh, NY later this year.
