Selma Terrell Simpson
Mrs. Selma Terrell Simpson of 4908 Lancashire Drive, Raleigh, NC, died at 2:04 p.m. Monday, February 10 at home after a short period of declining health.
Born on June 28, 1915, in Caswell County, daughter of the late Henry Edward Terrell and Lucy Susan Simmons Terrell. She was married for 60 years to Walter Burch Simpson. A World War II veteran, her husband predeceased her in 1997. She was a longtime member of the First Christian United Church of Christ where she was a member of the Lila B. Sellars Sunday School Class, and the Women’s Fellowship.
Survivors include her daughter, Penny Simpson (Cato Estrada) of Raleigh; a son, Tony Simpson (Cindy) of Fuquay-Varina; two grandchildren, Stefan Estrada (Jessica) of Austin, Texas; Elis Estrada (Matt Goldberg) of Alexandria, Virginia, and one great grandchild, Aila Estrada. She is also survived by her loving sister, Mrs. Mary Terrell Menefee and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Services of Burlington, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 14 followed by a service in their chapel at 11:00 a.m. and interment in Alamance Memorial Park.
