Sarah Hudgins Fowler, 87 of Burlington, NC, died Friday December 14, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer's surrounded by her loved ones at her home.
Sarah was a native of York, SC, born on May 25, 1931 to William and Lillie Hudgins who preceded her in death. She moved to Burlington in 1957 with her loving late husband Clinton D. Fowler.
She graduated with a Register of Nursing degree from Spartanburg General Hospital School of Nursing. Sarah worked at Spartanburg General Hospital, Memorial Hospital of Alamance, Dr. Gaddy's Office, Director of nurses at Care Inn Nursing Home and Alamance Regional Medical Center. As a RN she spent her life carrying for others. Sarah was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Darryl Fowler and Sabrina Fowler Reid; daughter-in-law, Tanna Fowler; grandchildren, Erica Lindley and husband Johnathan, Shana Williams, and Cortney Fowler and fiance' Stephen Riggs; and great grandson, Levi Riggs.
She was preceded in death by her son Eric Fowler; daughter, Rene' Fowler; and her siblings, Robert Hudgins, Pat Ballard, Emma Loftin and Betty Earle.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington with Pastor Garry Gates officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:45 – 1:45 PM prior to the service at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington and at other times will be at the residence.
