Mrs. Margaret Walker Garner

Mrs. Margaret Walker Garner, 87, of Burlington passed away at UNC Hospitals in Hillsborough on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 9:15 p.m.

A native of Orange County, she was the wife of the late Boyce Weldon “Bill” Garner and the daughter of Edward Graham Walker and Grace Thompson Walker, both deceased. Margaret was retired from textiles and worked several years at Ausley’s Florist in Graham. She was a member of Belmont Baptist Church.

Mrs. Garner is survived by three sons, Edgar Boyce “Billy” Garner and his wife, Clemmie of Haw River, Billy Gene “Jim” Garner of Burlington and Larry Edward Garner and his wife, Shirlene of Burlington; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Etta Garner Marley; two sisters and three brothers.

The funeral service will be conducted at Belmont Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. by Rev. Larry Janey. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
