Obituary

Sara Irene Scoggins Bradsher, 89, of Burlington passed away at her residence on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 following a brief illness.

A native of McLeansville, she was the wife of the late Bethel Bernard Bradsher and the daughter of Charlie Henry Herman Scoggins and John Laura Isley Scoggins, both deceased.

Sara retired with 32 years of service from Wachovia/Wells Fargo Bank. She loved to sew and take care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren who honored her by calling her “G.O.A.T.”, Greatest of All Times. She loved eating sweets especially chocolate cream filled donuts who were brought to her by her son-in-law. Sara was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elon where she served as treasurer for many years.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon King and husband James and Terry Bradsher and Chuck, all of Burlington; three grandchildren, Kevin and wife Yvonne, Staci and husband Kenyon, and Taylor and Ryan; four great-grandchildren, K. J., Alli, Carter, and Wowie; and two sisters-in-law, Ruby Scoggins and Shirley Scoggins. She was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Kadence, three brothers, and two sisters.

A Cryptside Service will be conducted at the Mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. with the family speaking to friends following the service.
