Ruby Lee Alexander Whitten

Ruby Lee Alexander Whitten, 93, of Burlington passed away at White Oak Manor on Sunday, July 11, 2021.

A native of Salem, SC, she was the wife of the late Bruce Larry Whitten and the daughter of Raymond Kay Alexander and Ophelia Lay Alexander, both deceased. She was formerly employed with Kayser Roth for 20 years. Ruby was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church and the Widows Support Group.

Survivors include a daughter, Gloria Scott and husband A. B. Scott of Whitsett; son, Ron Whitten and wife Janet of Burlington; three grandchildren, Kevin Scott, Amanda Scott Gray and husband James, and Nancy Whitten Adams and husband Bartley; five great-grandchildren, Paige, Bailey, Jackson, Aiden, and Clare; and brother, Lindel Alexander.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Al Thomas with the family receiving friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. The committal service will be held at Alamance Memorial Park immediately following the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grove Park Baptist Church, 108 Trail One, Burlington, NC 27215.
