Rosa Belle Faison Smith, 89, of Graham, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Brookdale Memory Care, Burlington.
A native of Wake Forest, NC, she is survived by her husband of over 58 years, Richard Lewis Smith. She was the daughter of Willie Matthew Faison and Addie Wilson Faison, both deceased. She graduated from Wake Forest College, Summa Cum Laude with a degree in mathematics. She was a retired school teacher with Alamance Burlington School System with 30 years of service and a founding member of New Covenant Fellowship Church.
In addition to her husband of their home, survivors include a daughter, Susan Oakley and husband Chad of Graham; four grandchildren, Hayden Batts of Burlington, Chandler Batts of Graham, Britton Batts of Graham, and Nicole Oakley of Greensboro; sister, Virginia Faison of Raleigh; and brother, Willie Faison of Wendell; many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by a brother, Parker Ray Faison and three half-sisters, Undine Allen, Dolores Poole, and Jule Perry.
A private funeral service will be conducted at New Covenant Fellowship Church on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. by Pastor David Neff. The service will be livestreamed to the public on the New Covenant Fellowship Church Facebook page, (www.ncfcgraham.org). Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Covenant Fellowship Church, 1913 Rogers Road, Graham, NC 27253 or AuthoraCare Hospice, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
