Ronald Edward “ Ronnie” Hornaday, Sr., 75, of Burlington passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of William Thomas Hornaday and Gertrude Huddleston “Boots” Moore, both deceased. He was self-employed as a carpet installer for many years. In his youth, Ronnie was active in Rodeos, competing in Barrel Races and Pony Express on his trusted horse, Buckshot. He was active in the Burlington Moose Lodge, and coached youth football. He especially enjoyed spending time with his sons, camping and boating. He loved going on fishing trips and dove hunts with his buddies.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald E. “Little Ronnie” Hornaday, Jr. and wife Danielle and Bobby T. Hornaday and wife Natalie; four grandchildren, Christian Hornaday Ortiz and husband Eric, Heather Rene Hornaday, Sara Carson Hornaday, and William Jackson Hornaday; a brother, Jerry Hornaday; and beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Hornaday.
A visitation will be held at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m.
