Obituary

Ronald Tabor Davis passed away at his home in Burlington on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the age of 88.

Born on March 4, 1933 in Roxboro, NC, he was the second of eleven brothers and sisters born to Lacy Greene and Mildred Graham Davis.

Ronald grew up in the great depression and World War II era when self-sacrifice and self-sufficiency were necessary attributes. He was a gifted artist and craftsman. He used these talents for most of his career as an employee of Cobb Sign Company in Burlington. He also built custom kitchen cabinets and countertops and custom furniture. He enjoyed working in his shop, restoring antique vehicles, gardening and fishing. He enjoyed children and could not resist adopting numerous stray dogs over the years. His last adopted dog, Maggie, was a constant companion in his last years. He enrolled in the gunsmithing program at Piedmont Community College in Roxboro in his early 70’s and earned his gunsmithing certificate in 2013 at the age of 80.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Eunice Mullen Davis; four children, Donna Holmes and husband David of Mebane; Debbie Mitchell and Husband Steve of Elon; Eric Davis and wife Phyllis of Burlington and Nicole Davis of Burlington. Two grandchildren, Brett Norton and wife Mandy of Mebane and Brandy Marcum and husband John of Raleigh. Three great grandchildren, Parker Norton, Tabor Norton and Tenleigh Norton.
