Roger Dale Setzer, 77, of Burlington received his ultimate healing May 30th, 2023, with his family by his side after a long battle with cancer.
A native of Alamance County, Roger is survived by his wife, Dianne Setzer, daughter, Jennifer Gordy, son-in-law, Seth Gordy and granddaughter, Reese Gordy. Roger is also survived by sister Freda Kimrey, special uncle James Liles, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents Fred Setzer and Marguerite Liles Setzer, and brother, Marshall Lee Setzer.
Roger was an active member at St. Mark’s Community Church, involved in various Bible studies, the small group ministry, and community care outreach. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Roger spent his career working in marketing and information technology, including owning a small business and serving as a lead project analyst at Labcorp.
Roger’s favorite activities and hobbies included fishing, Tarheel basketball, having faith conversations, and spending quality time with family.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Roger’s hospice home care staff who provided compassionate care to Roger during the last five months of his life.

A celebration of life service will be held at St. Mark’s Community Church on Saturday, June 10th at 2pm, officiated by Rev. Bob Disher and Joanne Soliday, with a reception to follow.
