Robert “Squatty” Howard Rumley, 87, of Graham passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, September 25, 2018.
A native of Alamance County he was the husband of the late Rebecca Harrison Rumley and the son of Robert Lawrence Rumley and Thelma Payne Rumley, both deceased. He was the owner of Cedar Cliff Barber Shop and a member of Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Cozart and husband Doug of Burlington; his son, Robert Lacy Rumley and fiancé Wanda Horner of Haw River; four grandchildren, Adam Cozart and wife Brandy, Heather Curl and husband Ben, Hayley Rumley, and Bradley Rumley; five great grandchildren, Luke Dawkins, Ashton Cozart, Zeb Cozart, Bryer Curl, and Lola Curl, and his special friend, Norma Hair and her family who he cared for deeply.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Pauline Cook; and two brothers, Calvin C. Rumley and William Sterling Rumley.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
A funeral service will be held at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM by Rev. Gary Yeatts. Burial will follow at Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church Cemetery.
