Obituary
Robert A. “Bob” Gratzer, 77, of Whitsett, died Friday, December 14, 2018 at Beacon Place in Greensboro.
A native of Syracuse, New York, Mr. Gratzer was the husband of Cheryl Sue Gratzer and the son of the late Harold Anthony Gratzer and the late Margaret Harrison Gratzer.
Mr. Gratzer is a veteran of the US Navy. He retired from R.T. Vanderbilt as a lab supervisor. He was a member of St. Marks Church. He was an avid Syracuse basketball fan for over 60 years.
In addition to his wife Cheryl, of the home, Mr. Gratzer is survived by his daughter, Christine M. Neese of Alexandria, VA; two sons, Kevin R. Gratzer and wife, Susan, of Tavares, FL, Jeffrey A. Gratzer and wife, Colleen, of St. Louis, MO; six grandchildren, Chase M. Neese, Taylor C. Gratzer, Nicole E. Gratzer, Natalie R. Gratzer, Noelle K. Gratzer and Nina M. Gratzer; two sisters, Marjorie “Midge” Hughes and her husband, Roy, Barbara A. Bursch and husband, Edward and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Tymofy.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Rich and Thompson Funeral Service in Burlington.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 17, 2018 in the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro.
