Obituary
Richard Lee Davis, 75 of Burlington, died Friday, February 15, 2019 at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington.
A native of Alamance County, Mr. Davis was the husband of Dianne Webster Davis, who survives, and the son of the late Winfred Otis Davis and the late Mary Ruth Clapp Davis.
After graduating from Williams High School in 1961, Mr. Davis attended the Technical College of Alamance until joining the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, Mr. Davis graduated from Elon College and later UNC-G with a Masters in Accounting. He was the owner of Davis Accounting, Inc. operating in Gibsonville until recently when he moved the office to Burlington. Mr. Davis was past President of the Gibsonville Merchants Association and served as past-treasurer of the North Carolina Society of Accountants.
Mr. Davis was a member of Davis Street United Methodist and was a member of the Outreach Sunday School Class.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Dianne, his sons, Doug (Mary), and Dan Kimrey; his granddaughter, Madison Kimrey, of Greensboro; his brother, Charles R. Davis; a niece, Cathy Davis Stevens, and her husband, Harry and a nephew, Ric Davis.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Nancy Davis.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 18, 2019, at Rich and Thompson Funeral Service in Burlington from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. Other times they will be at the residence.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 1:00 PM in Davis Street United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Edgar DeJesus and the Rev. Wilbur Jackson. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
