Mr Richard S. Barfield

Mr. Richard S. Barfield, 80, of Graham passed away at the Hospice Home on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 6:25 a.m. following a lengthy illness.

A native of Chadbourn, NC, he was the husband of Ann C. Barfield, who survives and the son of Jesse S. Barfield and Evelyn Pauline Norris Barfield, both deceased. Mr. Barfield was a retired salesman. He was a member of New Covenant Fellowship, the Masons and the Shriners.

In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include three sons, Craig S. Barfield and wife Lisa of Burlington, Scott Barfield and wife Jane of Mebane and Shawn C. Barfield and wife Stefanie of Graham; six grandchildren, Cameron Barfield (Mary), Emileigh Barfield, Seth Barfield, Sydnie Barfield, J. C. Caddle and Malinda Caddle; two great-grandchildren, Emery Barfield and Charlotte Barfield; brother, Patrick Barfield of Greensboro; three step-sisters; and one step-brother. He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Beatrice Barfield.

The funeral service will be conducted at New Covenant Fellowship on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. David Neff with the family receiving friends from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. The committal service will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. Other times, the family will be at the residence of a son, Shawn Barfield.
