Raymond Earl Bailey, Jr. 45, of Elon went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 11, 2019. While he will be missed dearly, he is at peace in the loving arms of his Heavenly Father.
Ray, Jr., as he was affectionately called, graduated from Western Alamance High School (Class of 1991). He also graduated from UNC Chapel Hill (Class of 1995) where he became an avid fan of all Carolina sports. Ray, Jr. was employed at Camcor, Inc. in Burlington for 23 years. Most recently he served as Vice President of Sales. He was a member of St. Mark’s Church in Burlington.
Ray, Jr. was the son of Raymond Earl Bailey, Sr. and Glenda Barbour Bailey of Burlington, NC. He is survived by his two children, Hunter “Hunt” Douglas Bailey and Caroline James Bailey. He is also survived by one brother, James Rodney (Mala) Bailey of Burlington and their children Aanya and Navya, his aunt, Ann Conner (Roger) Stanley of Greensboro and his uncle, Ricky (Janet) Bailey of Burlington, 4 first cousins, Dawn Stanley (Steve) Benbow of Greensboro, Blair Stanley of New York, NY, Kathryn Bailey (Ryan) Crawford of Mebane and Beverly Bailey of Raleigh. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Ola Barbour and his paternal grandparents, James and Christine Bailey.
Hunt and Caroline were the main priority in Ray, Jr.’s life. They were the source of his joy. He was a loving father and enjoyed nothing more than taking them to Tarheel ballgames. Reading about history was a favorite pastime.
The family will receive friends in the Atrium at St. Mark’s Church, 1230 St. Mark’s Church Road, Burlington, NC on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 12:00 noon until 1:45 pm. The funeral service will follow in the sanctuary at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington. The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Raymond, Sr. and Glenda Bailey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Church or Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
