Ray C. Bowman
Mr. Ray C. Bowman, 75, of Graham passed away at Select Specialty Hospital at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 4:55 p.m.
A native of Orange County, he was the husband of 53 years to Peggy Garner Bowman, who survives and the son of Charles Bowman and Gladys Byrd Bowman, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a member of the American Legion, Post 63. Mr. Bowman retired from the textile industry as a Distribution Supervisor having worked for many years at Kayser Roth and West Point Stevens, among other companies.
In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include a daughter, Cindy Bowman of Durham; son, Tim Bowman and wife Michelle of Graham; two grandchildren, Katelyn Bowman and Hailey Bowman, both of Graham; three great-grandchildren, Sutton, Sammy and Amya; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Bowman of Mebane; brother-in-law, Richard Garner of Toronto, Canada; and three nieces, Kimberly Bowman Jones, Lori Bowman Flood and Emaly Garner; nephews, Cole Garner and Davis Garner. Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Michael “Mike” Bowman.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be a close family friend, Charles “Rudy” Wimmer. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:45 p.m., immediately prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
