Mr. Percy J. Davis, 95, of Burlington, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of Durham County, he was the son of the late Percy J. Davis, Sr. and Irene Pate Davis, both deceased. He was a retired accountant and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. Mr. Davis was a graduate of the University of North Carolina, where he was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, and was a member of the American Legion, Loyal Order of the Moose, and Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Burlington. He also loved drag racing, golf, and spending time with his social club at Mye Tavern.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Thompson and husband Jeff of Haw River and Lisa Jenkins and husband Johnny of Elon; two sons, Jimmie W. Davis, Sr. of Burlington and Jack Davis, Sr. and wife Barbara of Goldsboro; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and eleven great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, one granddaughter, and two sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington and at other times will be at the residence of his daughter, Cindy Thompson, 3473 Phillips Chapel Church Road, Haw River.
