Mrs Peggy Webster Smith

Peggy Webster Smith, 88, of Mebane passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Bland Smith and the daughter of Jesse D. Webster and Nina Ray Webster, both deceased. She graduated from Watts School of Nursing in Durham, in 1955. She retired from the V. A. Hospital in Durham with 35 years of service as an RN and was a member of Swepsonville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Janet Wilkinson and husband Kenneth of Mebane; brother, Jesse David Webster, Jr. and wife Kate of Ft. Mill, SC; step-daughter, Katharine Walden; step-sons, Theodoric Bland “Ted” Smith, III and wife Heidi and Christopher Smith and wife Roxy; four step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at Swepsonville United Methodist Church on Friday, March 17, at 11:00 AM, by Rev. Gordon Christen with the family receiving friends prior to the service at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Phillips Chapel Cemetery.
