Pearl Morgan Way

Mrs. Pearl Morgan Way, 97, of Burlington passed away at Homestead Hills in Winston-Salem on Sunday, February 17, 2019 surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Way was born in Pender County on February 19, 1921. She was the wife of the late George Winfred “Doots” Way.

Mrs. Way was one of the first female real estate brokers in Alamance County. She was a member of the Alamance-Burlington Board of Realtors and the Women’s Division of the Alamance County Chamber of Commerce where she was “Woman of the Year, 2001”. She was also a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Sylvia W. Sink and husband Ron of Lexington; son, George W. Way, Jr. and wife Kathryn of Bear, DE; five grandchildren, Angie Joyner and husband Danny of Clemmons, Kim Odum and husband Berry of Lexington, Shannon Grubb and husband Charlie of Wallburg, Tripp Way and wife Gina of Wilmington, DE and Jennifer Way and fiancé Kevin Russo of Bear, DE; and nine great-grandchildren, Dylan and Caleb Joyner, Kaleigh, Sam and Kinsley Odum, Trevor and Maddie Way and Cassidy and Ashlyn Grubb.

Mrs. Way was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

The funeral service will be conducted at Macedonia Lutheran Church on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 12:00 noon by Pastor Matthew Miller and Pastor Richard Goeres with the family receiving friends from 11:00 until 12:00 noon prior to the service. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
