Alamance County - On this day November 10th, 2017, heaven’s angels welcomed Pauline Compton Smith to her eternal home. She is forever now to walk in heaven’s gardens among the flowers she so loved.
Born, August 3, 1920 and a native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late James Marvin Smith and the daughter of Albert Compton and Mattie Wheeley Compton, both deceased. She retired from Duratred Hosiery and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington and the Holly Hill Walkers of Burlington.
Survivors include two sons, Michael T. Smith and wife Gail of New Bern, NC and Richard L. Smith and wife Coleen of Richmond, VA; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery, Burlington, NC.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your local Humane Society. Pauline was deeply close to her beloved Lady, deceased and her Anna (her little girl) who was by her side at her passing, both rescues.
