October 3, 1951 ~ March 16, 2024 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Obituary

Paulette Motsinger Griffith passed away peacefully in the company of her family on March 16, 2024, at the Hospice & Palliative Care Center of Alamance County, following many years of failing health from multiple sclerosis.

Paulette was born on October 3, 1951, in Winston-Salem. She attended Graham High School, Appalachian State University and Elon University. More than 50 years ago, Paulette married the love of her life, William Morris “Bill” Griffith of Graham. Paulette and Bill lived their entire formative lives and raised their children in Alamance County.

Paulette spent more than 21 years as an assistant school teacher at Elon Elementary School and EM Holt Elementary School, and was an active member of St. Marks Community Church of Burlington.

Paulette was a beloved wife, sister, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with her friends but was especially fond of spending time with her grandchildren whether it be at home, on Disney cruises, carousel rides, parks, and anywhere else that would make them smile. Paulette loved to cheer on the alma maters of her sons and to influence their children to do the same. She could not resist a funny story and was quick to create many lasting funny memories for others. Her illness mav have slowed her down but her enthusiasm and desire to enjoy her family and friends never waned. She always had a twinkle in her eye.

Paulette is survived by her husband, Bill, of Burlington; her children, Mark Griffith and wife, Katherine, of Raleigh; Matt Griffith and wife, Cannon, of Atlanta; and Mitch Griffith of Raleigh; and her grandchildren, Charlie and Kee Griffith of Raleigh; and Campbell and Hutton Griffith of Atlanta. She is also survived by her brother, Mike Motsinger and wife, Jean, of Mebane, and their children, AJ Motsinger and wife, Sarah, of Durham, and Anna Motsinger of Mebane. Paulette was preceded in death by her parents, Anderson Charles “Andy” Motsinger, and Marjorie Wilson “Marge” Motsinger.

A funeral service to celebrate Paulette’s life will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory of Graham at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 23, 2024. The family will receive relatives and friends there during a reception following the service. A private burial will be held at Graham Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mulligans Fore MS, 3029 Amherst Avenue, Burlington, North Carolina 27215 (contact Melinda Smith at 336-675-5423 and Melinda.smith1@att.net).

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Hospice & Palliative Care Center of Alamance County, and to the Village of Brookwood, for their special care.
