Paul Crestwell Zeagler Jr

Mr. Paul Crestwell Zeagler, Jr., 82, of Burlington passed away at his home on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 3:46 p.m.

A native of Baton Rouge, LA, he was the son of Paul Crestwell Zeagler, Sr. and Claribell Esther Ott Zeagler. Mr. Zeagler was a veteran of the. U. S. Army. He started his career at Werlein Music in Baton Rouge with the balance of his career spent as a salesman at Bell & Howell then Minolta. Among the many awards he received, the one he was most proud of is Minolta’s “Award of Distinction.” Paul found his true calling in retirement as a master woodworker. His artwork fills the homes of many. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter and former Senior Warden. Always bringing people together, Paul delighted in his community of friends and was the founder of the Zeagler Society.

Paul is survived by two daughters, Molly Wilkins Zeagler and Martha Crestwell Zeagler (Thomas Kelly Shirley); two grandchildren, Evelyn Bentley Shirley and Pender Aloysius Shirley; mother of his children, Wanda Lou Weems; sister, Eleanor Zeagler Morris (Clifton Tate Morris, Jr.); brother, Edward Hamilton Zeagler (B J Zeagler); and by all who loved and called him Dad, Paul, Papa, Brother, Uncle Paul, Zig, Arsh Marsh, Body, Godfather, and Friend.

Visitation will be held in the Parlor of the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church, 320 East Davis Street on Thursday, January 23rd from 6-8pm.

A Celebration of his life will be held at the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church, 320 East Davis Street on Friday, January 24th at 11am with a reception following in the Great Hall.
