Paul Linwood Godwin

Paul Linwood Godwin, 84, of Elon passed away at the Hospice Home on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 4:10 a.m.

A native of Sampson County, he was the husband of the late Shirley Ann Love Godwin and the son of Paul Godwin and Thelma Strickland Godwin Morrison, both deceased. Mr. Godwin was President and CEO of Paul Godwin Company.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda G. Jones of Graham and Victoria Godwin of Louisburg; two sisters, Frankie Mendenhall and husband Larry of Florida and Josephine Tew of Burlington; two brothers, Joseph Lindell Godwin and wife Shirley of Ohio and Edward Wayne Godwin and wife Pam of Burlington; two grandchildren, Steve Fisher, Jr. and Holly Christine Jones; and one great-grandchild, Harley Fisher. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Michael Robert “Bobby” Jones and a sister, Mildred Estelle Godwin Evans.

The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Joseph Lindell Godwin and Rev. Joseph Lindell Godwin, Jr.

Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
