Patricia Louise Meyer Quitney

Patricia Louise Meyer Quitney, 86, of Elon, passed away Jan. 1, 2020. She was born Jan. 15, 1933, in Crookston, Minnesota and grew up in Twin Valley, Minnesota. She attended the University of Minnesota in the early 1950s. She married Dr. David E. Quitney June 20, 1953, before he began service as a U.S. Army dentist during the Korean Conflict. They lived in Northern California, then moved to Glencoe, Minnesota, in 1955 where David opened a dental practice. Pat raised two children, Janna and Jeff, while doing volunteer work. She was a reader for the Minnesota Radio Talking Book Network (RTB), the world's first radio reading service for the blind. In the early 1980s, David moved his dental practice to Manhattan Beach, Minnesota, with Pat serving as business manager and assistant. They retired in 1997, moving to Elon, North Carolina. In retirement Pat volunteered at Loaves and Fishes and Twin Lakes. She was preceded in death by David in 2017 and her siblings Bart Meyer and Marjorie Meyer Hoysler. She is survived by her children Janna Quitney Anderson (Daniel), Elon, and Jeff, Barstow, California, and her grandchildren, Tyler Anderson, Seattle, and Kacie Anderson, Los Angeles. The family will hold a private service. Memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell.
