Patricia Lunsford Cobb, 80, of Burlington passed away at the Hospice Home on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 4:25 a.m.
A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of the late Carl Dean “C.D.” Cobb, with whom she loved to hunt and fish. She was the daughter of W. Perry Lunsford and Hattie Morton Lunsford, both deceased.
In 1957, Patricia was crowned Wenoca Queen “Miss Hello Charley”. She retired after 35 years of service with Western Electric/AT&T as a supervisor in the engineering division. Following her retirement, she was a tour guide with Holiday Tours. Pat spent many of her retirement years as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, ARMC Pink Lady, Special Olympics and with the Telephone Pioneers of America. Mrs. Cobb was a member of St. Mark’s Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Carla Cobb of Burlington; two sons, Lin Cobb and wife Breta of Burlington and Ty Cobb of Carolina Beach; sister, Linda Kirby of Leasburg; brother, Dennis Lunsford of Greensboro; six grandchildren, Lindsey Cobb Thompson and husband Daniel, Lauren Cobb, Clay Cobb, Jeffery Cobb, Colby Williams and Kiley Williams; and two great-grandchildren, Jett Thompson and Ridge Thompson.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
The funeral service will be conducted at St. Mark’s Church on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Robert M. “Bob” Disher, Jr. and Rev. Ben Bishop. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
